ABOUT ME

Welcome

One of the first things I share with clients upon starting therapy is that I’m here to help you do the work and make the changes. You’re coming to therapy in part because something isn’t working for you and I take an active approach with clients.

Your time is important to me! I am honored to be of service to those who invest their time with me. Similar to the day after a really good workout, my hope is for clients to leave a session feeling a little sore. If you’re coming to therapy to make changes, let’s get after the work together.

I work with adolescents, adults and couples. As a former high school educator, I'm passionate about helping adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, stress, and self-esteem issues. I have special interests in working with student athletes, LGBTQ clients, and those in faith transitions. I am also passionate about helping couples reconnect, stop ineffective communication patterns, heal emotional wounds and navigate mismatched values and desires. I use my background as a yoga teacher to incorporate mindfulness and meditation techniques (tantra, metta, spiritual, moving) when these approaches serve the client.

Certifications

I have certifications as a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist (link this to the KAP tab), in EMDR (PsyA-EMDR tab), Complex Trauma, Gottman Level 1 Couples, as well as training in the modalities of CBT and ACT. I’m always learning for my clients and am eclectic with my style and person-centered.

Modalities Used

Using the modality of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), I have a strength for taking something that may seem complicated and breaking it down into something relevant and actionable. CBT is a great start to psychotherapy in identifying patterns and faulty cognition habits.

Through my experience as a therapist, I’ve observed clients who understand the “why” of their actions, have the right tools to recognize their way of thinking, and still find themselves stuck on the same hamster wheel. ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), is a great next step. Based on the foundation of your personal values, it’s a forward moving modality that offers specific tools to give you back control in your life.

EMDR is used in conjunction with all of the modalities offered. Here is a video showcasing a little about EMDR.

Whatever may have brought you to this page – whether that be anxiety, relationship problems or a desire for an empathetic alliance to help you process life – I'm interested! We all deserve and need a little help from time to time. We are served by moving through our lives with intention and connection, and I would be honored to be that help you seek.
